Annabella Lwin, the Anglo-Burmese singer, songwriter, and record producer is best known for her incredible work as the lead vocalist of Bow Wow Wow. She first gained recognition when she was only 13 years old after being discovered by Malcolm McLaren in 1980. Despite her young age, Annabella had an impressive vocal range that captured the attention of many. Her unique sound made her a perfect fit for Bow Wow Wow's post-punk sound. The band released their debut album Your Cassette Pet in 1981 which featured hit singles such as "Go Wild in the Country" and "I Want Candy." This album was met with critical acclaim and was certified gold in the UK. Their second album See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah! City All Over! Go Ape Crazy followed shortly after and featured a few more charting singles like "Do You Wanna Hold Me?" and "Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear to Tread)." After releasing two albums with Bow Wow Wow, Annabella left the group to pursue a solo career in 1983.
In 1984, Annabella released her solo debut album titled Love Me, which included songs such as "Don't Tell Me Lies" and "Love Me As I Love You." This album was also successful and spawned several charting singles in both the UK and US. In 1986, Annabella released her sophomore effort entitled Whatever It Takes which featured hit singles such as "Monkey Business" and "Nobody Knows." The success of this album earned her a nomination for Best Female Artist at the Brit Awards that year. Throughout the 1990s Annabella continued to produce music but took a break from performing live shows until 2012 when she reunited with Bow Wow Wow for a series of reunion tours. Since then, she has been touring extensively across Europe with both Bow Wow Wow as well as on her solo tour dates. Most recently, Annabella announced that she will be embarking on another tour starting this year 2023 which will include stops across Europe including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and more!
