About All That Remains

All That Remains is an American heavy metal band from Springfield, Massachusetts, formed in 1998. They have released nine studio albums, a live CD and DVD, and have sold over a million records worldwide. Philip Labonte (vocals), Mike Martin (rhythm guitar), former Diecast drummer Jason Costa, and lead guitarist Jason Richardson make up the current lineup. The group's line-up has remained consistent from 2008's Overcome until 2015's The Order of Things, which spanned four LPs. The band's name came from the title of a book by Brazilian author Paulo Coelho called The Pilgrimage. The book is about a man named Santiago who goes on a journey to find his "Personal Legend". They were soon joined by bass guitarist Jeanne Sagan and drummer Dan Egan. The band released their self-titled debut album in April 2002. In 2003, Labonte was replaced by former Diecast vocalist Josh Martin. The band's first album with Josh Martin, This Darkened Heart, was released in April 2004 and debuted at number 38 on the Billboard 200 chart. The singles "This Darkened Heart", "Chiron" and "The Deepest Gray" all received airplay on various rock radio stations. The album sold over 400,000 copies worldwide. In 2006, All That Remains left Prosthetic Records and signed with Razor & Tie. The album debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200, selling 35,000 copies in its first week of release. The singles "Six" and "Two Weeks" both received airplay on rock radio stations and both charted on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. In 2009, All That Remains participated in the Mayhem Festival along with Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet for My Valentine, Job for a Cowboy, and Behemoth. In 2010, the band went on tour with Iron Maiden and Dream Theater. The band also participated in the 2010 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival along with Korn, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, and others. In March 2012, the band's bassist Jeanne Sagan left the band, citing personal reasons. Sagal was subsequently replaced by Aaron Patrick.
