Very Santana started in Los Angeles in 2010, inspired by Carlos Santana's mix of rock, Latin, and jazz. Marco Reyes, the band's guitarist, is in charge. He has studied classical guitar and jazz fusion. Early albums, like Salsa Horizon (2011), gained a loyal following in Latin rock circles by mixing complex guitar melodies with rhythmic beats.

Their big break came with the album Guitar Fire (2015), which reached number 7 on the Billboard Latin Rock charts. They went on tours to Rock in Rio in 2016 and the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Montreal in 2017. "Midnight Rumba" and "Solar Serenade," two of their most famous songs, were nominated for Latin Grammys. Their reputation as great live performers was cemented by working with Latin percussionists and horn sections.
