Los Rehenes is one of the busiest rings in Mexico, and they Formed early in the 1980s in Fresnillo, Zacatecas — from another famous Latin work community, Los Temerarios. Javier Torres, Los Rehenes' lead singer, and the author was a self-taught musician. Javier Torres started to play around 16 years of age when he discovered a guitar at his uncle's house. From the start, music was always his passion, but he never imagined that it would one day become his profession.
Javier Torres is a Mexican vocalist and songwriter from Fresnillo, Zacatecas. He is most recognized as the lead singer of the band Los Rehenes. Javier Torres started his musical journey with Los Rehenes in 1982, releasing several albums with DMY (Distribuidora de Discos Monterrey). In 1992, they signed to Disa records and experienced their most successful period as a band. However, in 1994 Javier decided to release a solo album whilst the Jalisco Band was recording for Disa records. This was a big step for Javier, who had never written or composed any music on his own.
A year after his first album release, he came out with a second one in the same genre. It wasn't until 2003 that he decided to record again, but this time with a Sinaloan band. So while he continued to release albums with Los Rehenes, he also put out solo albums. Then in 2012, still under Discos América's label, he decided to come out with a new volume of said genre.
