Juan Fernando Fonseca is a Colombian singer-songwriter with a long and successful career in Latin music. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Juan started playing the guitar at age 7 and soon after began writing his songs. He studied music formally at institutions such as Javeriana University in Bogota and Berklee College of Music in Boston. His first album, Fonseca, was released in 2002 and featured the hit single "Te Mando Flores". The album was an instant success and earned him two Latin Grammy nominations. Since then, Juan has released seven more albums including Corazón (2006), Ilusión (2008), Iluminar (2011), Conexión (2014), Simples Corazones (2016), and Agustín (2018). Each album has its unique sound that blends traditional Latin rhythms with modern pop influences. His most recent album, Agustín, was released in 2018 to critical acclaim and won him two Latin Grammy awards for Best Contemporary Pop Album and Best Long Form Music Video. Fonseca is also known for his live performances which feature a mix of original material as well as covers of classic Latin songs. He has toured extensively throughout Latin America, Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Africa.
