About Hwasa

Hwasa, born Ahn Hye-jin on July 23, 1995, in Jeonju, South Korea, is a multifaceted artist renowned for her roles as a singer, songwriter, and rapper. She debuted in 2014 as the lead vocalist and rapper of the girl group Mamamoo, under the management of RBW Entertainment. Hwasa's early musical journey was marked by her distinctive voice and charismatic stage presence, which quickly set her apart in the K-pop industry. In February 2019, she embarked on a solo career with the release of her digital single "Twit," a track she co-wrote and composed. The song achieved significant commercial success, topping the Gaon Digital Chart and earning her multiple awards, including the Best Solo Artist Award at the 2019 Golden Disc Awards. This milestone marked the beginning of Hwasa's flourishing solo endeavors.

Building on her solo success, Hwasa released her first extended play, "María," in June 2020. The EP showcased her versatility across various musical genres and featured the lead single "María," which she also co-wrote and composed. The song resonated with a global audience, peaking at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and earning her the Best Dance Performance Solo award at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards. In November 2021, she continued to expand her discography with the single album "Guilty Pleasure," featuring the lead track "I'm a B." Hwasa's artistic evolution took a significant turn in June 2023 when she signed with P Nation, a label founded by renowned artist PSY, after a decade with RBW Entertainment. Under her new label, she released the digital single "I Love My Body" in September 2023, which secured a top-ten position on the Circle Digital Chart, further solidifying her status as a leading solo artist in the Korean music scene.

In 2025, Hwasa is set to embark on her first solo tour in North America, titled "HWASA LIVE TOUR [Twits]." The tour will commence on March 11, 2025, at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, Washington, and will include performances in major cities such as Oakland, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Brooklyn, Boston, Toronto, and Chicago, concluding on April 3, 2025, at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
