Oddisee is a hip hop producer and emcee from Washington, D.C. He has released nine solo albums, as well as three with his group Diamond District. His music often focuses on social and political issues, particularly those affecting the African-American community. Oddisee got his start in the late 1990s as a member of the hip hop group Uptown XO. The group released one album, 1998's The Dope Game, before disbanding. Oddisee then embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut album Foot in the Door in 2002. Since then, Oddisee has released eight more solo albums, as well as three albums with Diamond District. He has also collaborated with a number of other artists, including Talib Kweli, J Cole, and Wale. Oddisee's music often tackles social and political issues, particularly those affecting the African-American community. In 2015, he released the album The Good Fight, which was inspired by the Baltimore riots following the death of Freddie Gray. Oddisee is also a member of the hip hop supergroup PRhyme, alongside DJ Premier and Royce da 5'9". The group has released two albums, 2014's PRhyme and 2017's PRhyme 2. Good Compny is a D.C.-based hip hop trio composed of Oddisee, Uptown XO, and yU. The group's music is heavily influenced by the go-go sound of their hometown, as well as other traditionalist hip hop styles. Good Compny's debut album, The Good Fight, was released in 2015. The album was inspired by the Baltimore riots following the death of Freddie Gray. It includes the singles "That's Life" and "Never Give Up."
