Naughty by Nature is an American hip hop trio from East Orange, New Jersey consisting of Treach, Vin Rock, and DJ Kay Gee. The group formed in 1989 and first gained popularity with their hit single "O.P.P.", which peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The group has released seven studio albums to date, the most recent being 2013's Anticipation II.
Naughty by Nature is considered one of the pioneering groups of hip hop music. The group was one of the first east coast rap groups to achieve mainstream success on the west coast and internationally. The trio are known for their comedic timing and use of pop-culture references in their music.
The group has received two Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, three MTV Video Music Awards, and one Soul Train Music Award. Treach is also the cousin of actress Tia Mowry and singer Tahj Mowry.
