Shad Gregory Moss, better known to the masses by his stage name Bow Wow formerly Lil' Bow Wow (which is not related to the band Bow Wow Wow), is an American rapper and actor who was born on March 9th, 1987. Snoop Dogg was the one to discover him in the late 1990s, leading to Jermaine Dupri signing him up with So So Def Recordings and thus beginning his impressive career. At the tender age of 13, Lil' Bow Wow catapulted into stardom with his debut album Beware of Dog in 2000. This success was shortly followed by an even more impressive second record titled Doggy Bag released a year later. Bow Wow made his cinematic debut in 2002 with a brief cameo role in All About the Benjamins. While in 2003, Bow Wow took a huge step forward as he transitioned from being known as Lil' to just Bow Wow and released his third album Unleashed. This was an important milestone for the artist since it marked the first time that an album of his wasn't put out through So So Def. Bow Wow made a huge splash in the same year by starring as the main character in Like Mike. Subsequently, he began to star in various films such as Johnson Family Vacation (2004) and Roll Bounce (2005). His album Wanted (2005) was a smashing success, generating his two most popular singles to date - "Let Me Hold You" featuring Omarion and the infectious hit "Like You" with Ciara.
In 2006, he had a substantial supporting role in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Additionally, Vin Diesel reprised his character from that film for F9. After making his mark on the big screen, Bow Wow concerts always graced the audience with his presence on stage. After months of anticipation for his album release date with Cash Money Records, Bow Wow made the decision in May 2015 to part ways amicably and move forward with his music career. On September 27, 2015, Bow Wow reached a milestone in his career when he joined Puff Daddy's prestigious label Bad Boy Records. Subsequently, he appointed the members of his new management team. He then went on to portray Brody Nelson in CSI: Cyber until its end in 2016. On August 7, 2016, Bow Wow announced his retirement from rapping and promised to release an album titled NYLTH the following year. This was a highly anticipated record for all of Bow Wow's fans who were eager for new music! And as of November 2019, its release is still pending and no one knows when it will come out. On October 25, 2016, Bow Wow and Soulja Boy dropped their collaborative retail mixtape Ignorant Shit before the release of the former's last album. In 2020, Bow Wow flexed his vocal skills as he took part in the third season of The Masked Singer, performing under the alias "Frog." He proudly secured third place in the race.
