Michael Schenker is a German guitarist. He fronts the Michael Schenker Group and was a member of the rock group UFO. He has also been a member of the Scorpions.
Schenker started playing guitar at an early age. His older brother Rudolf taught him how to play some basics. Schenker's first band was called the Youngsters. He soon joined Scorpions as their lead guitarist when he was just 17 years old. He recorded five albums with them before leaving in 1978.
Schenker then joined UFO and recorded a further seven albums with them. He left UFO in 1993 but rejoined the band intermittently over the years. In 2016, he once again rejoined UFO for their last album A Conspiracy of Stars. Throughout his career, Schenker has released over 20 albums with various bands and as a solo artist. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
