Wardruna is a Norwegian musical group formed in 2003 by Einar Selvik, Gaahl, and Lindy Fay Hella. They are dedicated to recreating Norse cultural and esoteric customs through music, utilizing Nordic historical and traditional instruments including deer-hide frame drums, flutes, kraviklyra, tagelharpe, mouth harp, and goat horn. The music of Wardruna often features elements of black metal and folk music, with lyrics that deal with Norse mythology, runes, and nature. The band's debut album Runaljod – Yggdrasil was released in 2009, followed by a second album, Runaljod – Gap var Ginnunga, in 2013. Wardruna's third album, Blot, was released in 2016. In addition to their three studio albums, the band has also released a live album and DVD, Wardruna in Concert, as well as a number of EPs. Wardruna's music has been featured in the History Channel's television series Vikings, with Selvik appearing as a guest star on the show. The group has also collaborated with Norwegian singer-songwriter Marit Larsen on the song "All Good Things", which was included on her 2014 album When Winter Comes.
