Theo Katzman is an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer from Michigan. He has become a beloved figure in the music industry, not only for his solo work but also for his collaborations with other artists. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 2008, Theo began to write and produce music on his own. His debut album Romance Without Finance was released in 2009 and was followed up by Modern Johnny Sings: Songs In The Age Of Vibe in 2011. These two albums showcased Theo's unique sound and style - a mix of soulful pop-rock that drew influences from funk, jazz, and hip-hop. In 2013, Theo joined forces with fellow musicians Jack Stratton, Joe Dart, Woody Goss, and Mark Kelley to form the band Vulfpeck. Together they created a unique blend of funk-inspired rock with their brand of humor that quickly gained them a large following. Their first full-length album Thrill Of The Arts was released to critical acclaim in 2015 followed by Mr Finish Line in 2017.
Both albums were met with commercial success as well as multiple Grammy nominations. Theo has since gone on to release several solo projects such as Heartbreak Hits (2018) and Modern Johnny Sing: Act 2 (2020). He has also collaborated with other artists such as Sturgill Simpson on A Sailor's Guide To Earth (2016), which won Album Of The Year at the 2017 Grammy Awards. In 2021, he released his latest album I Never Thought It Would Happen This Way which included hit singles "Love Is A Beautiful Thing" and "Nothing Matters". Theo is currently gearing up for his 2023 tour which will take him across North America as well as Europe. Fans can expect to hear some of his classic hits such as "Modern Johnny", "Wait For The Moment", and "Animal Spirits" as well as some new songs off his latest album I Never Thought It Would Happen This Way.
