Heilung is a folk band that blends old and new cultures together, creating music with traditional Nordic instruments and voices. The band’s name “Heilung” translates to “healing or salutation” in German and reflects the group’s spiritual aspirations in their musical journey. Composed of members from Germany, Norway, and Denmark, Heilung draws inspiration from the ancient rituals of Prøstrate, the pre-Christian Northern European peoples. The band began performing in 2015 and made an impact through their theatrical performances that include ancient instrumentation such as drums and antlers as well as fire leaping; this combination has been captivating audiences across Europe since their inception. Heilung's albums have received critically acclaimed since they first debuted on August 23rd, 2019 with the release of their debut album “Ofnir”.

They have played at renowned festivals such as Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, and summer open-air gigs throughout Central Europe for instance Castle Party (Poland) Koplárovice (Czech Republic), Ragnarök Festival in Stemwede of Germany alongside major international acts such as Metallica, Slipknot and Within Temptation. Additionally, they have supported bands such as Troldhaugen for the Icelandic Metal Symphony Tour 2020. Recent concerts include Heilung Live From Valhalla which will be premiering May 13th, 2021 with seven shows spread over three weeks.
Altogether Heilung continues to make waves in their genre by combining immersive live performances which capture both old traditions along with modern elements.
