Boney M. was an Afro-German-Caribbean vocal group that specialized in disco and funk-influenced dance music. The group was originally formed in Berlin, Germany, but found fame after moving to the West Indies and signing with Hansa Records in 1976. The band's members included Maizie Williams, Bobby Farrell, Marcia Barrett, and Frank Farian. The group was incredibly successful throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s, releasing a string of hit singles that included "Daddy Cool," "Sunny," "Brown Girl in the Ring," and "Rivers of Babylon." In 1984, the group disbanded, but Farrell and Barrett continued to perform as Boney M. until 1996. The group has been credited with helping to popularize disco music around the world. In December 2021, Mitchell was one of the contributors to the Channel 5 music show Britain's Biggest 70s Hits alongside other musicians from the era like Dean Friedman and Barry Blue, and radio presenters like David Hamilton. The record was released with a video featuring Bimini Bon-Boulash from RuPaul's Drag Race UK, and it was credited to Majestic & Boney M (with the former being the DJ alias of Christie).
