Pure Prairie League is an American country rock band that has been around for over five decades. The original lineup of the band included singer and guitarist Craig Fuller, drummer Tom McGrail, guitarist and vocalist George Powell, and bassist Jim Lanham. They formed in 1969 in Columbus, Ohio and quickly became known for their 1972 hit “Amie”. Since then, they have released a string of hits including “Let Me Love You Tonight” (1980) and “Still Right Here In My Heart” (1984). The Pure Prairie League band has released twelve studio albums since its formation in 1969. Their most successful album was Bustin' Out (1972), which reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart. Other notable albums include Two Lane Highway (1975), Dance (1977), Can't Hold Back (1981), and All Night Radio (2002). They have also won several awards throughout their career including a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “Let Me Love You Tonight” in 1981.
In 2023, Pure Prairie League will be embarking on a tour to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The tour will kick off on June 12th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
