About Mark Wills

Mark Wills is a country music singer and songwriter from Cleveland, Tennessee. He began his career in 1997 with the release of his self-titled debut album which produced three top ten singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His second album, Wish You Were Here, was released in 1999 and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It included the hit single “Don’t Laugh at Me” which reached number one on the US Country Airplay chart. In 2001, Wills released his third album Loving Every Minute which featured two more number-one hits: “19 Somethin’” and “I Do (Cherish You)”. This album earned him two Grammy Award nominations for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and Best Country Album. Wills has also achieved success as a songwriter having written numerous songs for other artists including Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and Rascal Flatts. He has won several awards throughout his career including two Academy of Country Music Awards for Top New Male Vocalist in 1998 and Top Male Vocalist in 2000. In addition to this, he has been nominated for multiple CMT Music Awards, American Music Awards, and People's Choice Awards. In 2003 Mark Wills released his fourth studio album And The Crowd Goes Wild which debuted at number two on the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart and number sixteen on the US Billboard 200 chart. The lead single from this album was “Back At One” which peaked at number five on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His fifth studio album Familiar Stranger was released in 2005 and included four singles that all reached the top forty positions on either the US Billboard Hot Country Songs or Adult Contemporary charts. After taking some time away from music to focus on family life, Mark Wills returned to touring in 2017 with new music being released sporadically over the following years culminating in 2019 with his sixth studio album Looking For America which debuted at number twelve on the US iTunes Top Country Albums chart.
