Kelsey Waldon is an American country singer and songwriter. Originally from Kentucky, Waldon moved to Nashville in 2010 to pursue a career in country music. She released her debut album, The Goldmine, in 2013. Waldon's music has been described as traditional country and reflective of her Kentucky roots. In an interview with No Depression, she said that she grew up listening to country music icons like Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris. Waldon has said that she tries to infuse her own life experiences into her songwriting. Waldon released her second album, I've Got a Fire in Me, in 2016. The album's title track was co-written by Waldon and Nashville songwriter Jon Randall. The album peaked at number nine on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. In 2018, Waldon released her third album, White Noise/White Lines. The album's lead single, "Kentucky Rain", was co-written by Waldon and Nashville songwriter Ashley Monroe. The Grand Ole Opry made the announcement that Waldon had just signed with John Prine's record company, Oh Boy Records, in May 2019. Waldon is the first artist to sign with Prine's label in fifteen years. Waldon released her fourth album, Wild Kentucky Rose, in 2020.
