Jessie James Decker was born in Vicenza, Italy, in 1988. She grew up in a military household and acquired her love for music at a young age, thanks to musicians like Shania Twain and Faith Hill.  She was already performing at local events by the time she was 9, mixing pop and country styles.  She signed with Mercury Records in 2008 after working on her songwriting skills as a teenager. The next year, she released her first album, which was named after her.
