Since then, Gene Watson has been nominated for numerous awards, including Country Music Association's Male Vocalist of the Year and Academy of Country Music's Entertainer of the Year. His success continued with hit songs such as "Fourteen Carat Mind," "Farewell Party," and "Pick The Wildwood Flower." His albums have also earned critical acclaim; his 1979 release My Life (And My Love Don't Care) was certified gold by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies in the United States alone!
