Corb Lund is a Canadian country singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has released ten studio albums to date, with his most recent, Counterfeit Blues, arriving in October 2013. Lund was born in Taber, Alberta, and raised on a ranch near Vulcan. He began playing guitar at age 12 and started writing songs soon after. After high school, he attended the University of Lethbridge for a year before leaving to pursue music full-time. Lund's musical style is rooted in traditional country, but with a distinctly modern twist. His songs often tell stories of the Canadian west, and his album artwork is often inspired by vintage western movie posters. In addition to his solo work, Lund is a member of the country-rock band The Sadies. He has also released two albums with his alter-ego, Curt Bodybag. Lund is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing when he's not on the road touring. He is also a passionate supporter of animal rights and has worked with organizations such as PETA to promote the humane treatment of animals. Lund has been nominated for several Juno Awards and won the Canadian Country Music Association Award for Male Artist of the Year in 2008.
