Cam is an American country music singer and songwriter. She has released three studio albums, each of which has peaked within the top five of the Billboard Country Airplay chart. A fourth album is scheduled for release in 2019. In addition to her own material, Cam has co-written songs for other country artists, including Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris.
Cam was born in Huntington Beach, California, and raised in nearby Laguna Niguel. She began writing songs at the age of 13, and by 17 had signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Tree Publishing. In 2010, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music.
Cam's debut album, Untamed, was released in 2015 to positive reviews from critics. The album's lead single, "My Mistake", peaked at number 5 on the Country Airplay chart. Untamed was followed by a extended play, Burning House, in 2016. The title track, which served as the EP's lead single, became Cam's first number one single on the Country Airplay chart.
Cam's second album, titled Untamed, was released in 2017. The album's lead single, "Diane", peaked at number 2 on the Country Airplay chart.
On June 29, 2020, it was revealed that Cam had collaborated with her record company, RCA Records, to form a new collaboration for radio promotion with Nashville-based Triple Tigers. Her third studio album, The Otherside, which was released on October 30, 2020, will feature the lead-off single "Classic," which will be published on July 17, 2020. It will be her first country radio single since "Diane" in 2017. The CD will also include the previously released songs "Till There's Nothing Left" and "Redwood Tree."
