One of San Antonio's top professional orchestras, the 76-member South Texas Symphonic Orchestra (STXSO), has emerged. The STXSO, which was founded in 2017, is committed to playing symphonic music of the finest standard.
STXSO was selected as a finalist in the community orchestra area of the American Prize Competition in 2020.
Education is a priority for the orchestra. With the help of live-stream broadcasting technology, STXSO offers free instructional symphonic concerts to thousands of kids each year in Bexar County and around Texas.
