Serouj Kradjian is an Armenian-Canadian pianist and composer who has made a name for himself in the music industry. Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1973, he has been playing the piano since he was five years old. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and later went on to study composition at the University of Toronto. His musical career began with his first album, “The Art of Serouj Kradjian” which was released in 1998. Since then, he has released several albums including “Transcendental” (2003), “Journey” (2006), and “Ascension” (2011). Kradjian has received numerous awards throughout his career including two Juno Awards for Best Classical Album and Best Instrumental Album for his work on Transcendental. He also received a Grammy nomination for Best Classical Crossover Album for his work on Journey. In addition to these awards, Kradjian has performed as a solo artist at various festivals around the world such as the Edinburgh International Festival and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
Kradjian is also known for his collaborations with other artists such as sopranos Dawn Upshaw and Isabel Bayrakdarian, violinists James Ehnes and Lara St John, cellist Shauna Rolston, clarinetist Joaquin Valdepeñas, flutist Robert Aitken, guitarist Liona Boyd and many others. He has also composed works for film scores such as “The Nativity Story” (2006) and “The Book of Eli” (2010). In 2023 Kradjian will be touring extensively throughout North America to promote his latest album “Renaissance” which was released in 2021. The tour will include performances at venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York City, Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and many more. Fans can expect to hear some of Kradjian's most beloved compositions from across his discography along with some new pieces that have yet to be heard live.
