The Long Beach Symphony Orchestra is an American symphony orchestra based in Long Beach, California. The orchestra was founded in 1949 as the Long Beach Municipal Symphony Orchestra by conductor and music educator Hugo Vianello. The LBSO is currently led by Maestro Enrique Arturo Diemecke, who has been with the orchestra since 2006. The LBSO's current home is the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, which it shares with the Long Beach Philharmonic Opera and the Long Beach Ballet. The LBSO Long Beach Symphony Classics presents six classical concert programs per season at the Terrace Theater, as well as special concerts and educational outreach programs throughout the year. The orchestra's repertoire includes works from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and modern eras, as well as new commissions. The LBSO Long Beach Community Orchestra has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and has won the American Symphony Orchestra League's John S.
