Emily D'Angelo made her professional debut with the Canadian Opera Company in their 2006/2007 season as Cupido in Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and has since returned to the COC for roles such as Second Priestess (Iphigenie en Tauride), Naiad (Rusalka), and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte). She has also appeared as a soloist with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, and the Niagara Symphony Orchestra.
Emily D'Angelo has had an impressive career thus far, being the first and only vocalist to have been presented with the Leonard Bernstein Award from the Schleswig Holstein Festival. In addition, she was named one of WQXR NYC Public Radio's "40 Under 40" singers to watch and Canada's "Top 30 Under 30" Classical Musicians.
Ms. D'Angelo made her European debut in 2013 as part of the Schleswig Holstein Festival's prestigious Young Artist Program. That same year, she made her US debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall singing the world premiere of Andrew Norman's A Trip to the Moon.
Ms. D'Angelo is a graduate of The Glenn Gould School of Music and has been awarded the Canada Council for the Arts Sylva Gelber Music Foundation Award, the Ontario Arts Council's Career Development Grant for Classical Singers, and The Canada Council for the Arts Joseph S. Stauffer Prize.
Emily D'Angelo made her Met debut in the 2019-20 season as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni. She will also return to Los Angeles Philharmonic to perform Andrew Norman's A Trip to the Moon.
