Texas are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. The band consists of brothers Gary Clark (vocals, guitar) and Craig Clark (drums), Charlie Simpson (bass) and Jamie Simpson (keyboards). After releasing two EPs independently in 2010, the band signed to Search and Destroy Records, on which they released their debut album The Fire, The Flood in 2012. The album was produced by Dave Eringa (Idlewild, Manic Street Preachers) and was recorded in Rockfield Studios in Wales. It received critical acclaim from music publications such as Kerrang! and Rock Sound, with the former giving the album a perfect five-star rating. In 2013, the band toured the UK with You Me at Six and released a second EP, The Wild. They also toured with Biffy Clyro and enter the studio to record their second album. On 6 November 2014, they premiered the lead single from the upcoming album, "Chasing Cars". The song received positive reviews and entered the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart at number eight. The album, titled Unbreakable, was released on 16 February 2015. It peaked at number five on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and received positive reviews from critics. In July 2015, the band announced they had signed a worldwide deal with Roadrunner Records. The band's third album, Collide, was released on 14 October 2016. It peaked at number two on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and received positive reviews from critics. On 6 May 2017, the band announced that they would be going on hiatus after their current tour in order to pursue other projects. The band reunited in 2019 and released their fourth album, IV, on 26 April 2019. The album peaked at number one on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart and received positive reviews from critics.
