On November 7th, 2022 the Texas Longhorns men's basketball team held a spectacular home opener at Moody Center Austin TX against UTEP Miners. Cheered on by a crowd of 11,313 enthusiastic fans, the Longhorns netted their first home victory at the arena with an impressive score of 72-57 against UTEP. Since 2022, the Moody Center in Austin has been proud to host the Professional Bull Riders' (PBR) Austin Gamblers every summer and autumn during their Team Series season. The San Antonio Spurs are eager to expand their market reach into Austin and have recently announced that they will host two home games at the Moody Center on April 6th and 8th, 2023 against Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves respectively. This historic event marks the first time NBA regular season games have been held in Austin!
