  • Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) is a bustling multi-purpose arena home to many exhilarating events. Nestled at the crossroads of 14th Street and Grand Boulevard, on the east side of downtown's Power & Light District, lies an unassuming landmark. The Sprint Center has become the go-to indoor arena of choice for Kansas City residents, supplanting the Kemper Arena which was built nearly forty years ago in West Bottoms. Under the ownership of Kansas City, Missouri stands an arena that is embraced by all. Arena football can accommodate up to 17,297 people; basketball has a capacity of 18,972; ice hockey's maximum occupancy is 17,544; and concerts can host 19,252 spectators. On June 24, 2005 history was made with the groundbreaking of this project. Nearly two and a half years later on October 11, 2007, completion of construction had been finalized at an astounding cost of US$276 million. Our custom-designed and detailed exterior glass façade system, all metal panels for surrounding structures, and accompanying metal cladding have been supplied with precision. The grand arena is beautified by the commissioned work of public art, 'The Moons' created by Chris Doyle, which was funded and supported by Kansas City Municipal Arts Commission (KCMAC). With a captivating 360-degree LED video screen, the interior of this space is truly awe-inspiring. Accommodating up to 19,000 spectators and boasting 72 opulent suites, the arena stands ready for any large-scale event. The Sprint Center gloriously opened its doors on October 10, 2007, and was celebrated with a remarkable Elton John concert just three days later. In April 2020, T-Mobile US sealed the deal as its naming rights partner after successfully merging with Sprint Corporation. On July 9th, 2020, the eagerly-anticipated name change from Sprint Center to T-Mobile Center became a reality. To make every fan's experience even better, T-Mobile is bringing an unparalleled level of convenience to the arena. A dedicated entrance just for their customers leads into a state-of-the-art lounge outfitted with wireless charging tables. This high-tech space will also boast T-Mobile 5G coverage throughout and hundreds of additional charging stations scattered around the venue - plus, a unique monument outside declaring 'Heart KC'! Since 2010, the arena has been the proud home of the Big 12 men's basketball tournament annually. Furthermore, in 2008 it was also honored to host this remarkable event. Bridgestone Arena has been a part of the NCAA tournament for quite some time, having served as host to the first and second rounds in 2009 and 2013. And it's scheduled to continue its role through 2023! In 2010 and 2018, Kansas City had the privilege of hosting the NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament. The AFL's former Kansas City Command called Sprint Center home. Over a several-year stint, the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Premier Series made this venue its regular tour stop. 2022 marks the beginning of a special partnership between Kansas City and the PBR's Outlaws team. Each summer and autumn seasons, this venue serves as their home field for all Team Series competitions. Some of the upcoming events and games at the venue are WWE: Smackdown, Blake Shelton, NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament - Midwest Regional - All Sessions, Rage Against The Machine, Harlem Globetrotters, Future, Mike Epps with Cedric The Entertainer, UFC Fight Night - Holloway vs Allen, Janet Jackson, Thomas Rhett, Ricardo Arjona, and more.
